Music Originals

So, Apple gave us a preview of their new ‘original shows’, available only to Apple Music customers, quite a while back. The tech giants announced that they would be making a series of ‘Carpool Karaoke’ (previously a sketch show on James Corden’s Late Late Show) and ‘Planet Of The Apps’.

Carpool Karaoke started in 2015 with James Corden, he would invite celebrities on and sing with them in the American ‘high-occupancy vehicle lane’. Some Celebrities include Adele, Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Ed Sheeran. Apple bought this sketch show over but couldn’t release it on time. Instead, the second show, Planet Of The Apps was the first to be released.

3 episodes in, Planet Of The Apps seems to be quite a hit for techies. App Developers have to try and convince a panel of Celebrity mentors to help them grow their app.

If the company receives at least one celebrity who wishes to help them after the ’60 Second’ escalator, then they can try to convince the other judges to seek an interest.

Of course, at any time, Jessica Alba, Gwyneth Paltrow, Will.i.am and Gary Vaynerchuk can opt out or opt in. Once the developer has chosen which of the four judges he/she would like to work with, they enter the ‘Incubation Stage’ before pitching your app to famous investors LightSpeed, who are investors in Snapchat (first), Nest and much more. If accepted they will earn featured placement on the Apple App Store and a share of over $10 million venture capital investment.

I’ve watched all three episodes of Planet Of The Apps on Apple Music and I’ve really enjoyed it. I would recommend watching it if you have an Apple Music subscription.

I’ve even heard Spotify users say they will move to Apple Music as ‘Spotify just doesn’t offer what we want.’

We don’t know when Apple’s other show will be available but we’ll have to wait and see.
